چکیده

The C-IPS approach provides a way to structure negotiating agents at an abstract level that is above strategic and protocol-related aspects. The benefits to modelling and implementation of negotiating agents have been shown previously. Based on the modularisation imposed by the C-IPS approach we extend previously specified fully autonomous agents by a support for dynamic degrees of delegation. Artificial agents whose architecture supports dynamic degrees of delegation enable their users to delegate only subsets of their decisions to artificial agents. The delegation can be changed at runtime. Furthermore, the different modules can be developed independently of each other as long as the specified IPS dynamics are implemented. This paper shows that due to its abstraction level the C-IPS approach can be used to specify autonomous agents as well as interface agents.

C-IPS: Specifying Decision Interdependencies in Negotiations

Negotiation is an important mechanism of coordination in multiagent systems. Contrary to early conceptualizations of negotiating agents, we believe that decisions regarding the negotiation issue and the negotiation partner are equally important as the selection of negotiation steps. Our C-IPS approach considers these three aspects as separate decision processes. It requires an explicit specific...

HDRC3: A Distributed Hybrid Deliberative/Reactive Architecture for Unmanned Aircraft Systems

This chapter presents a distributed architecture for unmanned aircraft systems that provides full integration of both low autonomy and high autonomy. The architecture has been instantiated and used in a rotorbased aerial vehicle, but is not limited to use in particular aircraft systems. Various generic functionalities essential to the integration of both low autonomy and high autonomy in a sing...

Requirements for Achieving Software Agents Autonomy and Defining their Responsibility

This paper addresses the problem of implementing agent-based software systems with respect to agent framework fundamental concepts such as autonomy and interaction without specifying any particular agent internal architecture. The autonomy and interaction axioms imply that a deployment environment has to be defined in order to achieve interaction among agents. This deployment environment may al...

Diagnostic ambivalence: psychiatric workarounds and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

In 1980 the American Psychiatric Association (APA), faced with increased professional competition, revised the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Psychiatric expertise was redefined along a biomedical model via a standardised nosology. While they were an integral part of capturing professional authority, the revisions demystified psychiatric expertise, leaving psychiat...

MoiseInst: An Organizational Model for Specifying Rights and Duties of Autonomous Agents

In interactive multimedia applications, the objects composing the scene are increasingly considered as autonomous agents. Although autonomy brings flexibility and realism in the animation, these objects needs to be controlled. In this paper we present an organizational modelMoise aiming at specifying the rights and duties of agents in society according to four points of view: structural, functi...
